OBJECTIVE

The goal was to streamline the customization of custom-sized aluminum pergolas into an interactive web experience. The primary challenge was to engineer a parametric system capable of handling precise dimension adjustments, mounting conditions, dynamic louver blade rotation, and multi-option electrical integrations without compromising visual performance.

SOLUTION

We built a responsive 3D configurator equipped with real-time parametric logic and interactive mechanical toggles. The architecture allows users to adjust roof blade angles, customize frame and louver color pairings, and attach accessories like sliding glass doors or heaters in real time. Supported by a web-native AR engine, customers can preview the exact fully-equipped pergola structure in their backyard at 1:1 scale.

INTERACTIVE LOUVER KINEMATICS

The engine features precise mechanical visualization, allowing users to interactively rotate the roof louvers from 0 (fully weatherproof seal) to 120. Users can also toggle blade orientation directions to optimize natural light, airflow, and shade density in real time.

PARAMETRIC SIZING

Built to handle granular structural requirements, the configurator supports both standalone and attached mounting profiles. Users can adjust physical footprints across granular sliders for Width, Projection, and Height with dynamic 3D visual feedback.

INTEGRATED HARDWARE & ELECTRICAL MODULE

The interface manages a complex library of architectural accessories - including Sliding Shutter panels, Slide Glass Doors, and Blinds and Shades - alongside functional electrical options like built-in LED lights, Fans, and Heaters, automatically updating the assembly's specifications and visual model.

THE RESULT

The BON Pergola 3D configurator transformed a complex, custom-built outdoor structure into an effortless digital sales tool. By allowing customers to manipulate real-time mechanical features - such as motorized louver angles and dimensional mounting parameters - alongside instant AR backyard previews, the platform drastically enhanced buyer confidence.

This interactive visualization eliminated manual pre-sale design consultations, reduced ordering errors for non-standard sizing, and significantly boosted direct-to-consumer conversion rates for high-ticket pergola kits.
