OBJECTIVE

The core development challenge for the Kool Covers platform was to unify highly diverse architectural systems from multiple manufacturers (Azenco, Four Seasons, and 4K) into a single, cohesive digital environment. We needed to engineer a robust application capable of handling complex parametric dependencies - where changing a mounting type or roof style completely alters the available structural components, materials, and calculation rules - without sacrificing real-time 3D rendering performance in the browser.

SOLUTION

We developed a rule-based 3D engine that acts as a digital twin for real-world construction. The architecture utilizes a dynamic component registry to swap entirely different structural frameworks on the fly, calculating complex geometrical intersections for various mounting configurations.
 

We implemented deep parametric logic to handle micro-adjustments and structural reinforcements, ensuring the visual model strictly adheres to each manufacturer's unique engineering constraints and material profiles.

MULTI-VENDOR RULE ENGINE

The configurator dynamically loads specific engineering logic based on the selected manufacturer (Azenco, Four Seasons, or 4K). This allows the system to instantaneously switch between distinct roof architectures - ranging from motorized louvers like the R-BLADE to complex "Combo" roofs that integrate both solid panels and lattice sections - while strictly enforcing manufacturer-specific design constraints.

DEEP STRUCTURAL GRANULARITY

We engineered a highly detailed parameter hierarchy allowing users to manipulate micro-structural elements. The system dynamically recalculates the 3D model when adjusting Lattice Thickness, modifying Spacing, changing End Cuts, or adding critical structural reinforcements like Double Headers and internal Steel Inserts.

COMPLEX MOUNTING & SPATIAL LOGIC

The platform includes advanced algorithms to simulate various physical integration methods, including Wall-mounted, Fascia-mounted, Roof-mounted, and Cantilever setups. This logic calculates proper spatial behavior and limits depending on which adjacent structural walls (Back, Left, or Right) are defined by the user in the digital environment.

THE RESULT

By encapsulating the complex engineering catalogs of three major manufacturers into an intuitive interface, the Kool Covers configurator functions as a powerful automated pre-engineering tool.

It bridges the gap between initial sales and manufacturing by generating accurate structural summaries that account for exact post sizing, mounting requirements, and granular material profiles.
